HOME

In-Home therapy is a great choice for teaching independent living skills, such as personal hygiene, as well as strengthening social skills with family and close friends. This helps the family take an active roll in their child’s treatment by watching and learning from our therapists, which can help the family understand how to support their child’s skills development. Together as a family you can learn more about ABA strategies and begin to practice skills outside of ABA Therapy sessions.

Teacher and Pupil

SCHOOL

In-School therapy is an evidence-based type of intervention. The strategies used in this approach teach children the concrete skills they need in order to perform may of life’s functions independently. And also help the children preventing their behaviors from interfering with their academic goals, their social interactions and community integration. Other skills acquired from this therapy help these children make friends, learn less restrictively, and engage in the community in functional ways.

Outdoor Class

COMMUNITY

In the community ABA teaches children the social skills that many kids are lacking. These are the same social skills that children need to make friends and learn how to cope in the everyday environment. ABA is the most effective way to help children to live in "our world".

HOW DOES ABA THERAPY WORK?

Applied Behavior Analysis involves many techniques for understanding and changing behavior. ABA is a flexible treatment:

  • Can be adapted to meet the needs of each unique person

  • Provided in many different locations – at home, at school, and in the community

  • Teaches skills that are useful in everyday life

  • Can involve one-to-one teaching or group instruction

WHERE DO I FIND ABA SERVICES?

  1. Speak with your pediatrician or other medical provider about ABA. They can discuss whether ABA is right for your child. They can write a prescription for ABA if it is necessary for your insurance.

  2. Check whether your insurance company covers the cost of ABA therapy, and what your benefit is.

  3. Search our resource directory for ABA providers near you. Or, ask your child’s doctor and teachers for recommendations.

  4. Call the ABA provider and request an intake evaluation. Have some questions ready (see below!)
